Basket case!

The first of the baskets are finally posted on Etsy. I'm happy to say that there aren't a lot of baskets on Etsy when you do a search, so mine are easy to find. It was hard to price them for sale because there weren't many to compare, so I hope I have priced them well.

I gave my basket instructor of many, many years the recognition she deserves. Venie Hinson is well known in the basket making community and is a very talented artist. Unfortunately for us, she no longer teaches classes, she now lectures and travels.

So, if you have a chance, go look at my baskets. There will be more posted in the near future.

New items

Well, as you can see by the photos below, I've added five new pinafores to my Etsy shop. I think these are my favorites. I love the little felt flower embellishments. And I think the polka dot/gingham combinations are so cute.

I've also decided to clear out some books that I've collected over the years. Specifically my Stephen King and John Grishom collections. I'm pretty sure I had the entire collection of both authors. I thought I'd sell them on Amazon and hope for the best. Surprisingly I sold four books within the first three days of listing them. Not bad considering I listed over 50 books.

Now my next thing is to photograph and list some of the baskets that I've made. Basket making is another favorite hobby of mine but I think the baskets are starting to take over the house! So watch my Etsy shop for those to appear.

And the winner is....

Congratulations to Neen. Her name was chosen to receive the blue, reversible apron. And, by the way, Neen has a great blog if anyone has a chance to check it out. Thank you to everyone who entered my contest. It was so nice to see such a nice response on my first give-away. I will be adding more pinafores (five new ones) and another apron to my Etsy shop soon, so stop back and check them out. www.GooseyLucy.Etsy.com. Thanks again!

Memorial Day

Happy Memorial Day everyone. I hope yours was as enjoyable as mine. It was a beautiful day, the sun was shining and it was 80 degrees. Perfect weather if you ask me. We had a very busy, and very productive day. In the midst of remodelling our living room, we had the family over for a cook-out. Needless to say, it was chaotic at times, but still lots of fun. I certainly didn't have any time to craft or sew as it seems all my time right now is painting, but I'm sure there is an end in sight to the painting, and then back to normal.

I'm encouraged!

Wow - I think my Prizey give-away is off to a good start. 18 comments in just two days. I don't know how that stacks up to other Prizey give-aways, but I'm happy. I think it's interesting to see what appeals to people. And I love the comments. Only a few more days to go until I draw a name. Thanks to everyone who's left a comment so far and good luck!

I saw it on Simplemom - go check it out!

Who Doesn’t Love a Jewelry Giveaway?

I love jewelry, but I’m not very girlie. I’m more of a wooden-bead-necklace, simple-silver-hoop-earrings kind of mama. So when I first saw Lisa Leonard Designs featured here and there around the blogosphere, I wanted something of hers right. away.
I’ve always wanted one of those mommy-type of necklaces or bracelets - you know, the kind that embellish your kids’ names on a charm or beads. But I’ve never really found any that were my type. They’re always too… girlie. Too cutesy and bubbly.
That’s why I LOVE Lisa’s designs. They’re sweet and feminine, but they’re not frou-frou. She hammers the sterling silver into something unique and personal - the rustic, handmade feel is trademark to her style. And whether you personalize it with your kids’ names or something else altogether, it will be the only piece of jewelry of its kind, because she hand crafts each one individually.
You really need to go to her store and check out her stuff. Well, read the rest of this post, and then head over there.

She will make you a handcrafted “tiny squares” necklace with whatever words you want emblazened on the squares. A cream freshwater pearl adds that dollop of femininity I love. This piece of jewelry is valued at $46. I’m getting this very necklace with my two kidlet’s names. I’m so excited!

Sweet baby

Here is a picture of Erin wearing the pinafore I made her. Isn't she sweet? I love those dimples. What a happy, beautiful baby. Thanks for sharing this picture Barb and Happy Mother's Day.
